Policies

Commonly Asked Questions

A few answers to the questions clients ask most — so there are no surprises, only celebration.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes — DJ Marco Polo Entertainment is fully licensed and insured through NEXT Insurance. We're happy to provide your venue with a Certificate of Insurance (COI) on request; many venues require this as part of their vendor policy.

What is your booking and payment policy?

A 50% non-refundable retainer secures your date (payment in full is welcomed and preferred). The remaining balance is due no later than 7 days before your event. The retainer reserves your date exclusively and covers pre-event planning and consultation.

What is your cancellation policy?

All cancellations must be submitted in writing. Because the retainer is non-refundable, amounts equal to the retainer are not returned upon cancellation. If you cancel within 30 days of the event, the full balance remains due, as we will have reserved your date and declined other opportunities.

What happens if you're unable to perform?

In the highly unlikely event we cannot perform, we will secure a suitable, qualified backup DJ — subject to your approval before moving forward. If you prefer not to proceed with the backup, we provide a 100% refund of all amounts paid.

What about outdoor events and weather?

For outdoor events, the client is responsible for providing adequate cover (such as a tent or covered structure) to protect our equipment from rain, extreme heat, or other damaging conditions. If adequate protection isn't arranged and conditions put our gear at risk, we reserve the right to decline performance to protect our equipment; in that case the event is treated as a client cancellation with no refund. We're always glad to help you build a backup plan during your planning call.
